Rainy Day in Lakewood
Its about 1:30 and the tarp is on the field here at FirstEnergy Ballpark in Lakewood. Don’t worry, apparently the rain is going to subside at some point in the afternoon and baseball will be played. The field drains very well according to the folks up in the press box.
Batting practice will not take place on the field obviously but in the underground cages. Therefore, a fairly light day for the players.
Just got the lineups- one new player (Jeremy Hamilton) a 5th rounder back in 2008. Several wrinkles for the Shorebirds in game three. Brendan Monaghan will get the start behind the dish and bat ninth, Jacob Julius will start in right and bat second, Jed Stephen will start at short and bat sixth and Tyler Kolodny will bat third today.
Looking forward to the meal up in the press box today. Last night was a veal and cheese dish with mixed steamed vegetables and pasta. It was delicious.
Anyway, time to go interview Ryan Minor for the pregame show.
Until next time, Go Shorebirds!
