Good Timing for Joe Mahoney

Mahoney hit a towering home run in the bottom of the seventh to lift the Shorebirds to a walk-off win in game one of the doubleheader on Sunday night.

It was his first home run since July 22nd (24 games).  He went 83 at-bats without a home run during the power outage.

Nice to see him connect on a big time shot.

One other thing before I say goodnight.  The Shorebirds might be playing their best defense all season.  They have committed fewer errors (14) than games played (20).  Look at the other months this season…

July – 33 Errors/26 Games

June – 32 Errors/29 Games

May – 30 Errors/28 Games

April – 23 Errors/18 Games

Just nine more home games at Perdue Stadium this season.  Hard to believe.
