Longest Game Ever
Doc Shorebird, an avid supporter of Shorebirds baseball since day, brought me a copy of the original article about the 19-inning game between Delmarva and Piedmont back in 2000. It is the longest game in Shorebirds history.
I scanned the article and have made it available below.
An interesting tidbit about that game. Lakewood’s current hitting coach, Greg Legg, was the manager of the Piedmont Boll Weevils at the time. I showed him the article last night and he remembered the game very well.
