Well, the Shorebirds have dropped four games in a row and they are 1-5 on the current road swing to Lexington/Charleston. I do have good news to pass along today. The ‘Birds are 3-0 in games following four-game skids. Let’s hope they make it 4-0 tonight.
The Shorebirds hit only 49 home runs all last season. This year, after two last night, the Shorebirds have hit 50 home runs and still have 32 games left.
The Shorebirds have been unable to avoid giving up the big innings. Digest this…
7/31 vs. Lexington – 4 runs in the first for Lexington
8/1 vs. Lexington – 3 runs in the seventh for Lexington to break a 2-2 tie
8/2 vs. West Virginia – 4 runs in the first for WV (they won 4-3)
8/3 vs. West Virginia – 4 runs in the sixth for WV (part of eight unanswered)
‘Birds need a win today as they have dropped eight of their last nine.
