Congrats to Snyder!
First baseman Brandon Snyder was called up the Baltimore Orioles yesterday for the first time in his career.
He played for the Shorebirds in 2006 and 2007. In ’06, he hit .194 with three homers and 20 RBIs in 38 games. In ’07, he batted .283 with 11 homers and 58 RBIs.
Snyder becomes the first Shorebirds played to make the majors since Brad Bergesen’s jump in 2009.
The last Shorebirds position player to make it to the major leagues is Nick Markakis in 2006. Markakis played for the Shorebirds in 2004.
