Bullpen Stellar

Here is a cool video the local paper (Daily Times) put together about our Opening Night.  Shorebirds GM Chris Bitters talks about all the preparation.

Good news everyone – the Delmarva Shorebirds are 1-0.  Even better news, the Delmarva Shorebirds watched three bullpen arms toss five scoreless innings in the opener last night.

Chris Petrini, Clay Shrader and David Walters combined to allow just one hit over the final five innings.

I thought the turning point in the game last night was the walk to Brenden Webb to open the sixth inning.  It was the first time all night that the Shorebirds got the lead off man aboard.

The rest is history – Givens singles, Machado triples, bullpen holds, Shorebirds win.  Simple recipe I guess.

Tim Adleman gets the start tonight for the Shorebirds.  Here is a little story from the Georgetown athletics website after he was drafted.
