First since ’08
Michael Ohlman’s grand slam was historic in a way. It was the first Shorebirds grand slam since August 16 of 2008 when Tyler Henson hit one off Brad Burns of Savannah. No grand slams for Delmarva in 2009 and 2010. Joe Nowicki also hit a grand slam in 2008 on June 26.
How about the year for Ohlman so far – let’s compare.
2010 – 34 G, .174 (19-109), 14 R, 6 2B, 2 HR, 17 RBI
2011 – 19 G, .299 (20-67), 3 2B, 2 3B, 2 HR, 13 RBI
In summation, he has more hits and an equal amount of home runs in 15 fewer games this year.
Great to watch a player improve from one year to the next.
