Harper-Schutz, 1-2 – Note on Webb
The top two hitters in the league will collide today in the series finale between Hagerstown and Delmarva. Bryce Haper leads the South Atlantic League with a .396 batting average while Kipp Schutz ranks second in the league with a .381 average. Harper ranks fourth in all of Minor League Baseball while Schutz ranks 11th.
Harper has recorded multiple hits in six straight games while Schutz has multiple hits in eight of his last 12 games.
Harper puts a 15-game hit streak on the line today while Schutz will put his eight-game hit streak on the line.
One other quick note this morning. Brenden Webb is tied for the league lead in outfield assists this season. He notched his seventh yesterday when he thre out Blake Kelso at third base. Webb is tied with Daniel Adamson of Lexington.
