Shane Victorino in Lakewood

I was roaming around Lakewood’s website this morning and I saw that Shane Victorino will be rehabbing in Lakewood on Saturday and Sunday (game one against the Shorebirds).  This will mark that second year in a row that a prominent big leaguer is rehabbing in Lakewood while the Shorebirds are in town.  Last year, catcher Carlos Ruiz was rehabbing.

Victorino, who has not played since May 18th (and was placed on the disabled list on May 20th), was batting .284 with six home runs and 19 RBIs before getting hurt.

This is the second time Victorino will rehab with the BlueClaws. He went 1-5 on August 20th, 2007.

It’s a right hamstring strain for Victorino this time.

I’ll try to let you know how Victorino looks in Lakewood.  It’s always fun seeing a major league guy rehab in a minor league game.
